This isn't meant to be directed at anyone in particular; I'm replying to the whole thread and the list in general: For goodness' sake, don't we have anything better to do than sit around feeling good about how much we think we know about IDM history 101? What this thread really boils down to is one guy likes AE better than Plaid, and someone else likes Plaid better than AE, and a third likes them both. Who cares? What makes this worth discussing? Come on, the list has had enough discussions trying to objectively prove the work of artist X over artist Y that we know it's pointless. Are we really so bored with all the music coming out in the past few months? Are we really all sitting around on our collective rumps waiting for either AE or Plaid's new albums? What about all the recent new releases? Sheesh, even the big names of Warp, Planet Mu, Skam, Rephlex, et al have had a slew of releases in the past few months, let alone the lesser known labels. So I'll start off by talking about Manitoba's "Start Breaking My Heart" from Leaf in my next message.
