Initial Release -- Surgery Compilation 01
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
More of a cohesive album of tracks than a collection
of disparate musical moments, Australian based Surgery
Records "Initial Release" is a 2 disc compilation of 26 tracks
from 25 artists from around the world. Compiled over an 18
month period by Tim Koch [ Aural Industries / deFocus /
Surgery ]. It acts as an introduction to the general aesthetic
of the label. Stylistically, the compilation is a balanced
combination of dynamic rhythms, well crafted melody,
daydream inducing ambience, and a touch of quirkiness.
A data component on the CD contains pictures, animations,
MP3s and artists contact information.

Surge0004 - Aspen 'Are You That Retail Snob'
Our repress of the highly acclaimed and sought after
"Are You That Retail Snob" CD is now available once
again.
"Were you to retrofit Klaus Schulze's lushly strobing and
scintillating synth-sequenced alpha waves with the finest
in Y2K-compliant rhythm craft, you might find yourself in
the province of New Zealand's Bevan Smith. With his
second Aspen album, a much more focused Smith lets
his brain-bending ophidian melodies uncoil to the tick
of a hip hop-tinged electro metronome"
