If you want to make sure this doesn't happen anymore... use transmit
instead of Fetch... It's more basic but it won't fail you... Besides
you could use Uncook (I'm not sure it would work in this case
though), but I don't think it was ever released for Mac... :-/
Personally, i've had the same problem a few years ago and I
unfortunately never managed to make these files work either... :-/
