I find playlists less annoying than "For Sale Lists". If I want to buy
something I'll look for it on my own. The whole point of advertising it on
this list is to try and drive more and higher bids. If a practice was
dropped that would be my preference.
Sadly, playlists often express more content than most posts.
The playlists are ultimately an expression of what the individual likes. The
philosophy of this list has been to talk about electronic music we like, so
it doesn't seem out of place to chart music of this nature. As someone
pointed out, it's not likely most of these people are making money from
their shows. They do it for the love of the music, if they want to share
that cool.
Their playlists could be a good source to find out about other artists.
I know you are pretty much happy just buying Atom Heart, so i can see why
you wouldn't care as much for non-Atom Heart charts. If Atom Heart posted a
weekly chart on IDM, I doubt you would complain.
