Please excuse the slightly off-topic post, but I'm finally ordering my laptop this week. It'll be a PIII-933, 20 gig HD with 256 RAM. This machine will basically be my desktop replacement. I will use it to run video/graphics software (Adobe's photoshop, illustrator, premier and pagemaker), productivity software (MS Office 2000 Suite) and Audio software (CDr, Logic, Soundforge, etc...). I keep hearing about Protools and keep wondering if maybe I should go that route. I basically need a powerful program to edit soundwaves and master CD recordings. Is Protools expensive? Does anybody have any beta or trial versions? If you do, please backchannel the info to me.
