I live in NYC and once upon a time I worked in the games industry, back
when CD-ROMs were the thing (early and mid 90s). Sadly, I no longer design
computer games because there are no real game developers in NYC anymore. I
would have to move to Southern California, Texas, or Florida to find any
real opportunities. I'm too uptight to live in those places. So I make web
sites. Maybe I should move to the UK.
What's really sad is that used to be dozens of mutimedia companies making
CD-ROM games that had giant media budgets, which means cool animation and
lots of CD-Audio music. The web, for me, was in many ways a step backwards,
particularly for the music.
