i think much of it is the whole "grass is greener" syndrome. people in the
US think that mediterranean countries are exotic and cultured, and many
non-US countries think that the US is a place of money and guns.
hmm. well maybe not "grass is greener" but maybe "these things on tv must
be real" syndrome. both, actually.
probably why a lot of people in the US think that going to the UK will be
this great electronic music experience.
funny side note. one of the "major radio stations" in the twin cities area
is sponsoring "rave night" at one of the local clubs. they have an ad that
airs at least once an hour, exclaiming how "fly" the "rave party" will be,
and how they're bringing the rave to you, instead of you having to find it.
every wednesday. how daringly underground :)
