Of my recent purchases, my current faves are by Scott
Herren. Aside
from
the remixes and compilation tracks on Choc.
Industries, Schematic, and
Hefty, I only know of the following major releases:
Savath and Savalas - Folk Songs for Trains Trees and
Honey LP (Hefty)
Savath and Savalas - "Immediate Action 1" (Hefty)
Prefuse 73 - "Estrocaro" EP (Warp)
Are there any others I need to hunt down?

I'd strongly recommend the Sleep Method Suite 12" on
Clockwise Greg Clow mentioned. I scored it ages ago
on the advice of Mixmaster Morris, who charted it and
wrote something about how brilliant it was. Carter
Tracy (who may still be on this list) put it out on
her Clockwise imprint outta Atlanta, and I got a copy
through her. She's not running Clockwise any more,
but I think a guy named J. Stroke is and regardless
you might still be able to track down a copy. From
having heard all his work over time, it all sounds
like a logical progression to me and he keeps getting
better and better. The Sleep Method Suite isn't as
complex as the recent Delarosa or Savath material, but
it's just a great record. One side of horizontal, low
bpm trip-hop (for lack of a better term, and lack of
having listened to it lately) and the other is just a
collection of ambient atmospheres and textures. I
can also vouch for the upcoming Delarosa & Asora
"Agony" LP out on Jan. 16 which is excellent (same day
as the Richard Devine "Lipswitch" record also) - Full
disclaimer, I'm working press on both, so I'm biased
but I'd say that anyway!
One thing Greg didn't mention was the "Backsome" EP
also set to come out under his Delarosa alias on
Schematic. I don't have an exact release date for
that, prolly sometime in the new year, but it's got
six or so excellent tracks not on the "Agony" album (I
think it's earlier work, but not sure) - and there's a
full-length under the Prefuse 73 name on Warp coming
as well...
Busy guy. Great musician. Check all this stuff out,
you won't be disappointed - Brock
