All right, I've sussed the situation with respect to the Brainfreeze boots
and will recap Usenet style.
The legit versions appear to have DISC PRODUCERS INC 2886/BRAINFREEZE
ADC/CA inscribed on the inner matrix of the CD. They also apparently have
a red-on-white graphic on the surface of the CD.
The boot versions have 093000-2-1 Allied DT CD-SD1001 on the inner matrix
and have a red-on-silver graphic (as opposed to just red- you can feel the
paint on the entire CD surface but it's basically the same color as the
alumnium. From the outside, the cover art is a litle fuzzy (sorta like
the Atavistic pressing of the first Crescent CD, which is not a bootleg).
Thanks to all that responded.
