I have always found the opposite of this to be true. That is, big
bass-pumping speakers make the best records sound better, and without them a
lot of the detail is missing. Find a club with a good sound system.
For instance, how many of you haven't heard Maurizio 4 5 or 6 played on a
big system? You can't understand how incredible the production is until you
hear it shat out by a wall of bass bins.
I've heard the Luomo loud as well, and it sounds pretty amazing... at any
volume.
