I got nothing too IDM-specific in the way of specific live acts happening while
you're here, but Grimes plays on the 31st, she sold out the Fillmore (2 nights)
which is pretty remarkable for someone who gets essentially zero air play or
label promotion.
As for record stores, check out Mikebee's fabulous Vinyl Dreams on Haight near
Steiner - one of the last true DJ record stores in the whole area run by real
music fans. At the other end of the spectrum, and the other end of Haight, is
Ameoba, which has one of everything and often it's in the used bins overstock
for $1.
