Well first off I don't think that the Photek release is that much of a let down. I would like to have heard more rythm based stuff on the Royal Astronomy disc, but the Kid Spatula record on planet mu, kinded quenched that. I personally, like it better than Royal Astronomy, but I digress. Photek as at a level where I don't think that he has to kiss label ass to get his stuff released, Modus Operundi really pushed his career to the next level. I think that it was his personal choice to do the record the way that he did. Astralwerks and Skint aren't the same label, btw, Astralwerks just licenses skint material, as they do with lots of other labels. As far as I know, Caroline is also owned by Virgin, so the whole thing is just part of the corporate machine. Caroline also distributes for a bunch of labels too. I would worry far more about Warp's questionably taste as of late than to worry about how outside factors are going to influence them Rob component records www.mindstorm.com/component ----- Original Message ----- From: Benjamin McDonald <warpfan@hotmail.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, October 20, 2000 1:43 PM Subject: [idm] if was not said, i will
