is there such a thing as a real-time MP3 encoder? i have Minidisc
recordings of some shows that i would like to convert to mp3, but the
technique of recording the entire disc to an uncompressed AIFF file, then
compressing the aiff to mp3 is drawn out and a waste of space ... it seems
to me that since mp3 encoders encode faster than real time (on fast puters
anyway) that there should be a piece of software that would take the ADC
input from the computer and encode it straight to MP3 without having to
waste 600Mb of drive space first.
help?
