I just wanted to put in a good word for "brazilification," the (fairly)
recently released 2-cd compilation of fila brazillia remixing the work of
other artists.
If you like fila (and you will if you like smooth funky organic sublime
instrumental grooves), you'll appreciate their treatment of other artists. A
nice rolling blend, for those looking for a good mix cd.
They remix dj food, the orb, moloko, u.n.k.l.e., simple minds, irrestible
force, the egg, and black uhuru, among others. The only track which I don't
find to be excellent is a radiohead remix (!)
Currently import-only in the states, but well worth it.
