I think I know what you mean. It's like being in a dark maze as opposed to the sound of something dark and foreboding happening or about to happen. Like there's danger everywhere but you're nimble enough to avoid it each time like a computer game character. In fact, I think it would make a great soundtrack to a platform video game along those lines.
