jesusfuckingchrist. I rant a bit and everyone gets their panties in a
crunch. alls I meant is that I moved to SF three years ago, hoping that
there'd be electronic musicians and some sort of "scene" oozing from every
damn crack in the sidewalk. I love playing live and I love seeing people
play live! instead, SF is rife with unoriginal house, trance, or
drum'n'bass djs, and that's it (mostly)! there's TONS of people around
here ranting about "this" DJ or "that" DJ is his/her favorite, there's
shitloads of websites with DJ BADDASS's mix-netcast-du-jour. There's well
known crews: Phunkatech, Friends-n-Family,
JusticeLeagueSoundSystem...etc.
I -know- that there are LOTS of people around here making bedroom
music---but there's no interconnectivity...nobody ever talks about it on
the street. SF is so entirely based around local DJ culture, and that's
it as far as electronic music goes. I want that to change.
I wasn't preaching any candy-raver PLUR community peace-and-love
bullshit...c'mon.
