This is just a note to inform those of you who may be interested that there
will be a show this upcoming Oct. 14 (Sat.), featuring Janek Schaeffer
and Robert Hampson (Main) - in support of their collaborative effort
[COMAE].
Opening acts are still being decided. Flyers will be ready in the next
couple of days, and will be distributed to the Detroit area soon. The show
will be at Detroit Contemporary...same place as the recent Mego show
(Pita/Fennesz). Door price will probably be $10. Experimental electronic
heads are welcome, please spread the word.
A recent bio:
Janek Schaefer is a musician, sound artist, architect and graphic designer,
who lives and works in London England. Working with his unique 'Tri-Phonic
Turntable' (a 3 tone arm multi-record reversible play infinite vari -speed
vinyl manipulator), he combines found sound, vinyl manipulations and
electronic alterations in a 'concréte ruffian style' (The Wire1998). Janek
has recorded for Fat Cat, K-RAA-K3, Hot Air and Rhiz with current
collaborations due for release with Robert Hampson, Christian Fennesz,
Martin Tetreault and Phillip Jeck.
