ha ha......shooting, only socially fella...well
Still, I heard a snippet of Watercolors, and yep, thats the classic sound of
JB! I would say its a mesh between 10 Days of Blue & Placid Angles...
As for his Drum and Bass sound, well, as Lance said, "change is good",
regardless if I may like it......it just takes some getting use to....
Also the snippet I heard reminds me a little of his recent Indio albulm,
some of the softer tunes like "Snowdrift" and "a thousand storms"
U have it I presume....?
Oro!

What did people think of the latest Beltran (Sky EP 2)? Here's my
sketchy
review...
Watercoloured Dreams is among my favourite tracks ever: it drags you in,
draws you out, and by the closing string loop you're seeing angels.
Ayla is competently done, but in a style that fecks me off (cf John
Peel's
comment: the best thing about intelligent drum and bass is that it
implies
the existence of stupid drum and bass, which would be superb).
Petra is again excellent, in a similar fashion to ...Dreams, but Soul
Sketching is ruined by the painfully Titanic pipes. Presumably, JB
lives in
a techno bunker and is entirely insulated from Celine Dion.
Forgive my ignorance (please don't shoot, Kelley) but which of these is
closest to his 'classic' style... if Watercolour Dreams is the comedown
after
them, then the classics must be some truly magnificent shit.
Thanks for indulgence
david.
