I hate to add more non-content, but as an aside, since when was a remix
supposed to sound just like the original? i thought the point of a remix
was to mix styles, not just resequence?
i know it's been hashed over before, but all the remixes i've enjoyed don't
really sound much like the originals. sure, you can ID stuff (like the
melodies on funkstorung's 'tried by 12' remix, and a couple focal snippets),
and if you listen to the original, the remix will make more "sense", but i
thought if you wanted remixes that sounded the same you'd go to Sam Goody
and buy some "dance remix" single that replaces the bass guitar with a 303
[emulator]. "instant techno!"
bleh. I know there are some anti-Warp people out there, but you gotta give
credit where it's due :) and i do beleive Warp is UK based =)
real idm content: for all those autechre fans that apparently don't
understand what IDM *should* be about (*cough*sarcasm*cough), any news on a
new release by the duo? it's been over a year since ep7 came out. and
BoC anyone?
Also, on Arovane's "Atol Scrap", track 9 "amine", which incidentally reminds
me a lot of an old NES game "Xexyz", is a really beautiful song. anyone
have any thoughts on what's similar to this track?
Thanks again,
-derek
