hmm how odd. it starts with a rant about how, basically, "we hate this
'intelligent' stuff. we want dumb dance music!" and then goes on about
Various Artists, whom I never thought was that big. I mean, the remix thing
was ok, and the original was decent, but enough for 1/3rd of the article?
The guy sounds more like a jaded house fan than anything.
I do however like how the article focuses basically on artists who use real
instruments in normal ways. Because we all know that "idm" (or whatever
horrid abstraction the author used) is all about being normal and
predictable.
It's worth a read actually, just so you can see how the guy hates Autechre
so much =)
When is "idm" going to get published by someone who actually listens to it?
