Christian,

It's me the dastardly not too mention vocal label owner again... ;) Seriously though net sales for my label account for less than 5% of the total sales. With another 5% being done at gigs, and by myself locally. So that leaves 90% of AI sales being done through distributors and stores. A lot of people email me and ask where can they get our stuff in there local region and for North America we have that pretty well covered. In Europe and the UK decidedly less so (just Mego's excellent MDOS online service at www.mdos.at, email them that you want Thug's "Isolated Rhythm Chock" as they are taking more as we speak and Hedonizm Records in the UK which only has 4 left, so you better hurry!!). Anyhow a lot of people when I tell them it can be ordered direct from the label.. just can't be bothered with having to get an IMO or cash and post it off and wait a few weeks for it to arrive and then another few weeks for me to send their goods. ..And probably rightly so when they can buy music maybe as good by just walking into their local store or ordering from the myriad of online stores that take credit cards, etc. I'm in the process of looking for and setting up credit card facilities for the AI web-site shop (this come at a price and is an expensive overhead). Hopefully this may alleviate some of the problems that cause people not to order directly and pay it's own way. Just some rough mutterings on my situation. In synopsis I find people would rather go to their local store or order from their favourite online retailer mainly for the convenience. Nothing wrong with that and to tell you the truth i'd rather deal with stores and distributors who take a good number of cd's than all the individual orders as they are time consuming and don't amount too much in terms of sales volume and thus money returned.
