lets drag this out some more... (how long does pressing delete take?)... to my mind, the best organisation is complete chaos: scatter records everywhere, dig through a pile to find the one you want, mix them with floppy disks, books, coffee cups... As you shuffle through them, every record gradually shifts to its natural position; the one where you subconsciously know it SHOULD be. This also works with racks, but more gradually. By way of pretemtiousness, there's a passage in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance (I don't have it to hand) describing an old mechanic. Although his tools are spread out around his workshop in no apparant order, he can reach out and pick up exactly what he want.
