E2-E4 is probably his best, but there are a couple of other excellent Gottsching records, most of which were done under his two guises, Ashra and Ash Ra Tempel. The early records (all Ash Ra Tempel) are bluesy kraut-psych and very erratic, but he got into a great groove during the mid-'70s with New Age of Earth (my personal favorite) and Blackouts (both under Ashra). Both are quite similar to E2-E4, very ambient and flowing, a much better use of guitar-wank for atmospheric effect than Steve Hillage ever managed... There are reviews and such at http://allmusic.com/.

Schulze appeared on one of the early Ash Ra Tempel LPs, I think it was Join Inn... .John.
