yeah ive heard this and its really nice. grand royal wasnt the first to
do a compilation in this style though. the first (that i know of) is
called "groovebox experience" which came out on distance in 97. same
concept as "at home..." but with the mc-303. its got technossomy and scan
x contributions among others...
btw: i got a 3xcd compilation called "ohm: the early gurus of
electronic music" tonight. i havent listened to it yet as i just got
home but it looks like its going to be great. like i said its got 3 cds
with 43 artists from 1948 to 1980 plus a 90+ page booklet with
interviews/bios and some nice sturdy packaging.
also: about a month ago i bought a cd/book by carsten nicolai called
"polyfoto". really nice art and essays along with a 20 minute disc
similar in looks to the '20 to 2000 series. i had no idea carsten
nicolai was also into visual art. im very impressed with everything ive
heard and seen by him. what else should i look for?
matt
on now: steve roden- crop circles.
