personally I think these software synths have a lot of promise. They fail
miserably in their emulation of old analogue synths, but once you stop
trying to make it copy other things you can see the implications, you just
need the brains for them...I can't really say anything about Rebirth but
Generator is a pretty amazing program with a lot of potential. Especially as
CPU speeds increase I think software stuff is going to be where the most
innovation happens...I'm sure they're used lots already, I just can't tell
exactly on what...
