Ersatz Audio - The Forgotten Sounds of Tomorrow This compilation from the appropriately named Ersatz Audio (their web site cites the dictionary definition: ERSATZ: serving as a substitute, synthetic, artificial) is what techno would have sounded like if it was invented in 1982. Selected from the Ersatz back-catalog from the last five years, sixteen tracks of robotic, retro-futurist dance music with a very european sound which is unexpected from a detroit label. Harsh, needling synth melodies, clean, minimal electro rythms and the occasional new-romantic monotone vocal delivered with a delicious sense of irony. Nice artwork too. Wonderful. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
