i know this thread died a while ago but i just thought i'd add my 2cents
worth since i was lazing about in the sun when the poll took place. my
favourite album of the year was probably 'inside a quiet mind' by
micronism (kog transmissions). its simply beautiful, spanning a wide
range of flavours and melodies, from chain reaction type stuff to hip
hop to ambient.... anyway, its wicked, i've listened to it lots about a
million times and i'm yet to get sick of it.
other bits and pieces i've enjoyed this year (clearly disregarding when
they were released):
porter ricks - porter ricks and biokinetics
ermehn - samoans part II
boards of canada - music has...
both 12"s on nurture records
partisan records
aspen - album
luke slater - freek funk
afx and squarepusher - that track on we are reasonable people
and some jet jaguar stuff i just scored off a friend (woohooo!!)
