Personally I favour Sonic Groove, on Carmine St in the Village. They have lots of good stuff in there, including lots of old stuff that you might not expect to be able to find any more. Last time I was there I picked up Celestial Soul by As One and lots of Herbert I thought was long gone. They have lots of old Rephlex,Clear,Phono,Universal Language etc, etc. For experimental I'd go for Other Music on 4th near Broadway. Lots of freaked out wierd shit there. I'd also recommend the rotator locator on hyperreal. Thats how I found out about these shops.
