First off ::: advance thanks to Chris for once again undertaking this
mammoth and thankless task. I totally agree with the comments
pertaining to these three nominated categories : this IS afterall the
'98 poll.
I don't discount the validity of the original poster's thought process :
of course we all buy things that are not necessarily the freshest
release and *much* of the music that has given me most pleasure
during the course of this year is 'older' - but seeing this is a specific
voting process, we should stick to current issues.
My only problem is that I haven't heard nearly enough of the '98
releases to make an informed choice and can only pass judgement
on those which I've managed to obtain - a drop in the ocean of
what's 'out there'. {sniff}.
