Once I was standing on my friends bed with a video camera preparing to film
a scene, when suddenly a quiet moment from "Orbvs Terrarvm" came wafting in
through the nearby bathroom door. I clearly recognized the sounds and began
to go on working, enjoying the unexpected musical accompaniment. Yet the
more I thought about it, the less sense it made. Why would this non-idmish
listening friend borrow my Orb cd without mentioning it to me, and further,
why play it in the bathroom? Doesn't it have enough reverb already?
Eventually I realized it was the toilet itself producing the little watery
noises, as it went through its self-cleaning cycle and the water trickled
through the inner workings of the white ceramic structure.
