That may be true...and so I will add "Fieldwork" 12" EP to your list of reccommendations, not because of the Thomas Dolby A-side collaboration, but because of the musique concrete style 15-min piece on the B-side. It is an instrumental called "Exhibition" that has hard-panned non-synced digital phone tones clicking away in each channel. Similar to "Esperanto"

I'd like to hear this instrumental EP then! The vocals just bug me 80% of the time ON the topic of these artists of the early 80's, I think that yesterday I just gutted out a few of Seattle's better vinyl stores' bins for YMO (1000 knives 12" mint!), Bill Nelson, John Foxx, and german new wave.. BTW, The Der Plan LP I found (mint, $2) was engineered by none other than MIKE INK!! The album doesn't have the year listed, but it looks to be '83-ish.

After the above (except the vocal Naughty Boys), I'm more into the solo Sakamoto stuff from '78-'86, but then I'm all cracked-out on Nurse With Wound, so just ignore me.... Solenoid solenoid@europa.com <------+
