hey all, talking about William Orbit (and the fact the "Pieces In A Modern Style") is a re-release, there was a time about, what, 5 years ago when some major label thought he was the next big thing, as far as i could work out, and distributed his own label/sublabel - there were about 3 or 4 releases on it, I think.. ..ah, ok, just did a bunch of digging, his label was called N-Gram, and was put out via WEA. Didn't catch on, but interesting to spot "She Cries Your Name" from the now pretty big (and Orbit's gf at the time) Beth Orton on one of the albums. There was a lot of UK musicmag publicity at the time, but I guess the albums never sold too well.. some of the stuff is quite good tho, especially the Strange Cargo. "Pieces In A Modern Style" was withdrawn at the last minute from the original release, it says here (http://www.williamorbit.com - great site!) cos of copyright problems with one of the artists (Gorecki?). It was originally by artist name 'The Electric Chamber'. talking of Orbit (ok, this is a bit more non-idm), i didn't realise his association with Madonna went back as far as 1990, when he remixed "Justify My Love". I thought theirs was a new collaboration. Well, you live and learn ;) regards, h0l. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
