i just want to get some opinions on the new prodigy video for 'smack my
bitch up'. in case anyone hasn't seen it, it's basically shot from a
first person perspective and is a series of shots of women being fondled
and generally harrassed, with lots of clever vomiting footage. i'm just
wondering what meaning, if any, people find behind this video/song. is it
in fact mysogonist? i was a little unsettled by it, but i don't think
there's much meaning (sexist or otherwise) in any prodigy track.
i'm not really asking for prodigy bashing, or really even opinions on the
song's merit as a track at all. i realize politics are not a popular topic
on this list either, but i think this video requires a little discussion.
any opinions/insight appreciated.
