It's been slow. Most of the Wu-Tang Clan and associated projects (Method
Man, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Chef Raekwon, Genius/GZA) are well-worth checking
out. Most of the tracks are produced by The RZA. I didn't like
Ghostface's album as much. Also there's Killarmy, with tracks produced
mainly by 4th Disciple (RZA protege it would appear). DJ Muggs' (Cypress
Hill) solo/comp project was a step forward. Dr. Octagon, on the Mo'Wax /
insane-abstract-scientific tip, is quite good if a little hit-and-miss
(produced by The Automator). I was impressed by Hyaenas in the Desert,
too, on Chuck D's label.

Also anything by the gangstarr foundation(gangstarr, group home, jeru the
damaja) is genius. All produced by dj Premier. I would also agree that it
has been slow in the hip hop world as of late. It seems like the only good
records that have been coming out have been by established acts(wu,
gangstarr, de la, tribe, krs 1, and others). I haven't heard any new artists
worth talking about. Hopefully the new gravediggaz album will be tight.
