except that karlheinz doesn't seem to like music very much. he seems to say that any identifiable repetition is bad. by inventing increasingly abstract structural formulas for his experiments, he makes a case for a nearly-formless ("non-metric and non-periodic") music. this reasoning directly maps the argument that four-on-the-floor tracks which sometimes use sixteenth notes are funky. anybody else catch the irony that stockhausen, a composer who received his musical training in third-reich germany, is brought up as the only argument against four on the floor? both karlheinz and fouronthefloor are the hymns of "either/or" thinkers. i love that "ice cream harmony" comment tho, it covers so much of what gets talked about on this list!

reasoning? not to someone who won't explain theirs! oh, i forgot, it's against the house music laws to have reasons (messes with the saturation level of the drugs). eric onnow: +n : built (rather interesting)
