I'm a rather recent subscriber to IDM but have been buying idm cds for a
few years (mainly Warp because that's the easiest to find around where I
live -- I don't have the money or the time to hunt for obscure stuff).
With all this talk about how good Autechre is, I went back to listen to
Amber. Unfortunately I still find it rather lifeless and dull. On the
other hand, I absolutely _love_ the Anti EP -- the three tracks are just
devine! I can't explain why Anti does to me what most of Amber doesn't.
Maybe Amber seems a bit "effortless", a lot of the tracks just glide from
start to end without really grabing me.
Anyway, initially I was so disappointed with Amber that I stopped paying
attention to Ae. Now I'm ready to give myself and Ae another go. Which
post-Amber cd(s) would you recommend?
