I agree on this point as well...if you look at musical periods from the past, we weren't necessarily concerned with moving "forward" as much and as quickly in the past...the era's of classical music lasted quite a bit longer than electronica has been around! For instance, i think the Baroque period was(i'm probably off a bit here) around 100 or 150 years(?)...this would be unheard of in this day and age as a time period for ONE musical style, yet look at the depth and beauty of so many of Bach's pieces, or Vivaldi, or Handel...over the span of a hundred years or more...but all WITHIN a certain style, not stretching stylistic boundries to the extent that we do today on a regular basis. Now i'm not suggesting we progress quite as slowly as they did, but at least let's realax a little and stop looking for a whole new type of music from album to album for every given artist...
