Hi all, it's me again with the usual two-liners... tosca: opera (g-stone) the kruder&dorfmeister sound fresh from vienna, except that it's huber&dorfmeister this time under the name tosca. the first track is fuckdub, which some of you may know from the mind the gap 2 comp from cologne's groove attack label. great track. totaling just about 50 minutes, there are about three other tracks in the same smooth vein, the rest is filler. best tracks: fuckdub, worksong, buona sarah. super discount: s/t (different) chunky house and some light breaks from france. 11 tracks that are all named like "everything must go", "the boss has gone crazy" and all that, except it's in french. nothing spectacular, but a solid disc to throw on for a summer garden party. not a single lame track on there. roni size/reprazent: newforms (talkin loud) oh gee. two discs weren't necessary. anyways, two hours of kind of listless d&b. not as jazzy as other shit, not as hard as no u turn, some tracks are vocal, some aren't. sure, within two hours there must be an occasional track that stand s out, but mostly this is music that lets you conclude that d&b must find a new way soon. aphrodite recordings: s/t (aphrodite) now this is something completely different than the above. ok, I can't guarantee that this won't have worn off on me in half a year, but right now this is the most fun d&b disc since the torque comp. make that *jungle* disc. groovy, funky, fat basslines that make you want to buy subwoofers for your car tomorrow. every track's a killer. freezone 3 (ssr) first disc is completely and utterly lame, unimaginative noodling along for the most part. the only real good track on there is bulls dozing from fila b. second disc is much better; however I gotta go now. sorry. cheers, --tom
