(idm) Advice on putting Vinyl onto CD-R

Hi, I have recently gotten access to a CD writer and I've been thinking about putting some of my vinyl onto CD. Can anyone give me some advice on the best way to sample the music off the vinyl onto my computer. I only have an SB16 card would this be adequate for the job ? thanks brendan
