Looking for the Zap sort of funk vocal sound. There are a couple of talk box options and I am not sure which way to go. Heil makes the traditional talk box that requires a miced amp. Would a tube amp such as the new Peavey Classic line be good for this purpose or would I be better off going with another tube amp? I know nothing about guitar amps and I am not sure what characteristics to look for for the sound that I want. It is possible that a tube amp isn't what I need. I don't think that I need a large amp for my purposes. I will only be using it for the talkbox and maybe to overdrive the signal of a kickdrum from a drum machine. The other option is a new talk box from Rocktron that has an internal preamp and horn driver. Does this mean that I would need no amp? Would I still need a mic? I am not sure how the new box would replicate the funk vocal sound that I want. thanks, steve
