<COMPLAINT MODE> Apologies for the non-idm content: Could everyone please try not to quote the whole of a message unless necessary? It's extremely annoying, especially for digest subscribers, to get a message like this one from #1086 (sorry for posting the whole lot again, it's only to make a point):
quoted 12 lines I'm seeing him tuesday.... We'll see what happens in NYC. We'll storm>I'm seeing him tuesday.... We'll see what happens in NYC. We'll storm >his shit if he quits after 25 minutes. I seriously thought he would at >least go on for 45 minutes to an hour.. at least. 12 lines, here, compared to I-can't-be-bothered-to-count-how-many in the original message, one which we all saw and read a few messages ago. Now this isn't meant to be a personal thing, I've removed the details of sender, just a general thing. If you're replying to a message, quote just enough for us to know what it was about, unless it was a really long time ago. Otherwise it takes time to skip all the quoted text and is very irritating. Note also that the quoted text is often spread over two lines because the message window wasn't wide enough to fit the full lines with the quoting symbol ">". In most email programs you can fix this too, making the message easier to read. Thanks :) </COMPLAINT MODE>
