Yeah, on the first track the snares do become a bit of a blur. I dunno,
this release is fairly engaging, but seems 'conservative' in its
proto-jungle stylings. Maybe the title led me to believe that it would
be a bit more of a surprise...
Catch of the week: K7 "One Six Four One Seven". This release is worth
the admission price for the Autechre mix alone. That auto-wah vocoder
shit is the dopest thing I've ever heard. When I first heard this track
on the Real Audio broadcast I went apeshit over it and now it's nice to
have it on vinyl. Drum programming is key too - triplet 8ths throw me
into a frenzy!
