Yeah, this is easily my favorite Ae release, with Cipater being my
favorite Ae song, too. Absolutely amazing what they did on this album.
Envane is easily my favorite EP of theirs too, and it also comes out of
this era. Another thing to look for is the Ae remix of Beaumont
Hannant's Psi Onyx, which HAD to come out of that era as well. The
instrumentation (if you can call it that) rivals any of the tracks on
Chiastic.
Seriously looking back at the nineties as a decade i can easily say that
Chiastic Slide is either the #1 or #2 IDM album; when it comes to
breakthrough sounds, pure melodic beauty, and an overall progressive
theme, nothing seems to beat it. I have yet to see another Ae release
have a great consistant theme that Chiastic does... and it ends sooooo
perfectly.
