Well, I guess they're sorta trip hoppish in a wee way... But aside from that... you witnessed what I would consider 1996's biggest rising stars, Freaky Chakra and Single Cell Orchestra. Though I can't comment much on FC, Single Cell Orchestra are in my mind one of the most interesting products of San Francisco, producing a self-titled techno album on asphodel that has got a spot on my top ten list of all time. Also look for the Single Cell Orchestra "Dead Vent 7" ep on Reflective, and the Freaky Chakra vs. Single Cell ORchestra album on Astralwerks Records.
