It was 'tzaddi' that has the (somewhat slower) bassline similar to that
of M.A.R.R.S-'pump up the volume'. Decent track, but nothing stands
above the original. I also noticed another track on the album that has
the same chord progressions as the Giorgio Moroder soundtrack to SCARFACE
from 1983.
That's what makes this album so unique. We're not so uptight about which
track is better, trying to remember the track titles, what is jungle,
what is black dog-esque, etc, etc. You have to just "listen" to the
album as a whole; just like Eno's MUSIC FOR FILMS/MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS
albums. This is quintessential listening music, for those who haven't
gotten it yet.
Derek
btw, you can definitely tell WHO was the mastermind behind some of the
slower, more "eastern" tracks on Temple of Transparent Balls, Bytes, and
Spanners from this album too! Although Ed has had his "fair share" with
the "Balil" pseudonymn!!!!
