I don't have the time or energy for a proper review, but I got Chimera
'Valley of the Spirits' last week and would be interested in hearing other's
opinions.
This is by Kosmik Kommando, and it sounds a little like Speedy J, and
a whole lot like a dutch guy who listens to a lot of Detroit record.
There is a lot of 303 and 101 one bar loops throughout, but the 303 lines
are fairly restrained. It's amazing how few people seem to realize that
the 303 resonance knob can be set to values less than eleven.
It's very pleasant stuff, but it doesn't have that certain "What the Fuck
is That?" quality for which I prize Rephlex releases. It strikes me
more as a record that would come out on Peacefrog than Rephlex.
