it's unmistakeably Begg, so perhaps you just aren't going to be into what
he does. it's got a similar sense of humor, and plays with some of the
conventions of dance genres the way "Commuter World" does. personally i
LOVE the album, probably more than either the Buckfunk 3000 or Commuter
World.
also, i didn't sem to hear any of that "hype" about Commuter World being
"new and different". in fact, i slept on Si Begg until the track on
Funkungfusion, which left me more than ready for the full-length which i
instantly fell in love with. if anything Si Begg seems to sort of fall
through the cracks when it comes to proper recognition. maybe i just don't
read the right trade mags. . .
