Pardon the melodramatic strapline, but I'm feeling very pleased with myself in my efforts to propagate idm further. Having succeeded in getting my little (11-year-old) brother listening to Boards Of Canada on a regular basis, I've just given him a copy of LFO's "Frequencies" for his twelfth birthday - and he *loves* it!! (his elder by three years sister has taken all of a Saturday morning to decide that she hates it utterly, apparently. Maybe she better stick to Westlife...) Also, encouraged my formerly country-loving best mate to venture tentatively into the twisted realms of SAW II. I phoned him up just now and I *swear* I could hear Blue Calx in the background; makes an excellent change from the Dixie Chicks :-)... Question: I picked up this CD by a guy called Fennesz who I think I've heard mentioned on the list a few times before alongside Jim O'Rourke or someone like that. The CD's got some kind of map reference for a title (it's on the "Touch" label) and it comes in a little muslin bag inside a card wallet. My question is for people who have this CD: Is this particularly representative of "glitch techno"? And if so, what other people are worth investigating alongside this Fennesz guy? ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
