Haven't posted for a while, thought I'd give brief reviews of the stuff
I've acquired recently:
Reagenz (Jonah Sharp/David Moufang) -- Solid first 1/2, last 1/2 ok.
This album needs more Moufang and less Sharp. 6.5/10
Mouse on Mars - Iaora Tahiti -- A little better than Vulvaland, but I didn't
like Vulvaland much in the first place. hit/miss is 50/50. 6/10
Wagon Christ - Throbbing Pouch -- Damn, this is funky! I always liked
hip-hop beats, add some electronica and stir. Acquire promptly. 8.5/10
Chemical Bros - Exit Planet Dust -- I'm hearing their songs on MTV as
background for their commercials. First half sounds like Underworld with
more of a groove, 2nd half more vocals. Check it out. 7.5/10
Sun Electric - O'Locco -- Found it for 8 bucks, not bad. These versions bear
little resemblance to the Kitchen version, which is a bad thing, cuz the
Kitchen version is great. 6/10
Transmissions from Planet Dog -- If you don't have anything from this label,
you MUST get this. It's widely available for about 11 dollars. 2 CDs,
featuring Eat Static, Banco De Gaia, Timeshard, and Children of the Bong.
Good stuff. 9/10
happy holidays!
