_Energy Flash_ [and _Mentasm_] came first. So, urm , well it kinda *was*
responsible [though I still hold Liam Howlett *personally* responsible :),
not a fashionable thing to say; The Prodigy are 'in' again :) ] for
commercial 'rave' tunes as we know (knew?) them. It was *so* good, lot's of
people tried to imitate. It certainly inspired me.
And don't knock Smart E's, that's a class track! :)
But I agree with Peel, and I've said this before, Transmat's lost it. With
thousands of crappy repressings sprayed all over the place and the sell out
to R&S...
Only May can save himself now, with an album that re-invents the genre. But
this ain't gonna happen. It would not be surprising if this fabled R&S album
never got produced. May has dug himself the biggest hole, even bigger than
his mouth, and jumped into it.
